Newsletter 16.12.16

Welcome to this week’s newsletter,

Thank you to everyone who came to our open assemblies this week.  Please see the gallery for some photographs of the classes in action and some of the artwork.

It was great to see so many people at the bake sale organised by Hazel’s class. It was a great success. Over 750 euro was raised for the school in Greece that are working voluntarily to provide education for Syrian children. The whole school are so impressed that Hazel’s class took their learning from Human Rights month and used their knowledge to help refugee children. They have actualised the quote by Nelson Mandela that was read during the open assemblies;

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

There are some school calendars left, they will be on sale on Monday morning in the school for ten euro. All proceeds go to Canal Way.

If you would like to get in touch with the Parents Association Committee the email address is

Welcome to this week’s newsletter,

WINTER FAMILY FUNDAY Our Winter Family Fun Day will take place on this Sunday (4th Dec) from 2pm to 4pm in the school. Join us for an afternoon of family fun: Kid’s disco, games, facepainting, pop up café and sale.

SELF EXPRESSION DAY – Human Rights Month.

We all had a great time during self-expression day.

Each person chose an outfit that shared something about themselves. We all learnt more about how we are all different and found out some interesting things about each other. Some people chose to represent a hobbies, cultures, sports and interests.

Everyone enjoyed a self-expression parade where each person was celebrated for being a unique individual. After the parade there was a disco and pupils acted out a human right. At the end we reflected on how many rights we enjoy here at Canal Way ETNS.

Also see the gallery for the fantastic activities that were going on in the classrooms. The work that was done on celebrating the uniqueness of everyone was really special. This is going to become part of the annual calendar at CWETNS.  See the Gallery for fantastic photos
