Thanks to all who took part in the Table Quiz last week. It was a great night and a successful fundraiser – A BIG THANKYOU – see below.

MUSIC NIGHT

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our Music Night has been cancelled. Hopefully, we’ll organize one next year instead.

SCHOOL CLOSURES

This Friday 23.03.2018 – Half Day (12.00HRS) School closed for two weeks, and reopens on 09.04.2018

Mid Term school closed 07.05.2018 to 11.05.2018

DROICHEAD – CWETNS will be participating in the Droichead process, which is a Department of Education induction programme for newly qualified teachers. Cian, Doireann and myself have been trained, and shall lead this programme for newly appointed teachers in the years to come. We are delighted to engage with Droichead which will support and guide our growing staff.

STUDENT CONFERENCING - A feedback questionnaire has been dropped into your child’s bag. Please return with your observations and thanks again to staff and parents for engaging with this and making the initiative such a success.

CHILD PROTECTION Our new Child Safety Guarding Statement is now online, which replaces the former Child Protection Policy in accordance with the requirements of The Children Frist Act.

ANTIBULLYING POLICY Anti-bullying Policy has been revised and ratified, and is on the website. Thank you to the parents who reviewed and gave feedback, which we considered and adopted accordingly.

SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE The week was a great fun, and craic was had by all. See Photos here

THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU – WE HAVE NEW PE EQUIPMENT & BOOKS - thankyou to the parents association for fundraising at the ‘Stand-up Night’ – the money raised was spent on PE equipment which has been delivered. . See Photos here. Thank-you so much.  Books have also been delivered, which will be paid for using the money raised from the Table Quiz Night – We will have a representative from the parents association to present these to the children at assembly on Friday.

TABLE QUIZ THIS FRIDAY: We are holding a Table Quiz on March 9th in McGowans of Harold’s Cross. This is an annual event by now, and is always great fun. Start gathering your teams and get ready to rumble! All funds raised will be invested in new books for the school. Also, if you can contribute prizes for the night (for the raffle or the quiz), it would be super! SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE: Next week we will be having Seachtain Na Gaeilge, We shall be immersing ourselves in the Irish language and culture – with activities and dance, along with musicians to play a few tunes for us.

STUDENT CONFERENCING: Thank-you to all adults for attending Student Conferencing. Your class teacher will be in touch with dates if you have not already been into the school. Thanks to the staff also.

COMMUNITY – DUBLIN 8 SURVEY A parent in the school is working on a survey with DCU, on parental needs particularly in Dublin 8. The aim of the survey is to identify priorities for investment in services and infrastructure for families. COMPLETE THE SURVEY HERE
